Undurba State School
Intelligent design maximises functionality and creates versatile spaces
Undurba State School, in partnership with our expert team specialising in education architecture and design, successfully leveraged funding from the Building the Education Revolution program to create a state-of-the-art learning facility. The project encompassed the construction of a resource centre, computer lab, and new classrooms, all meticulously designed to optimise space utilisation.
Through a collaborative design process between the school and our team, two multi-storied buildings were meticulously crafted to effectively utilise the space between them. A covered outdoor learning area, strategically located at the entry to the resource centre, overlooks a two-storey covered space that serves as the entry point to the classrooms and computer lab. This thoughtful design not only activates the central space but also establishes a captivating focal point within the school network, promoting engagement and collaboration.
By employing innovative design strategies, we skilfully manipulated the available space, introducing a layering of activities and incorporating additional usable areas between the buildings. This clever approach expands the functional capacity of the school while adhering to the allocated budget. The result is a dynamic and efficient design that not only meets the school's needs but also enhances the overall learning environment, fostering creativity, engagement, and academic success.
