The Enterprise Centre
An integrated hub for a school looking beyond traditional teaching methods
Welcome to Southport State High's visionary - The Enterprise Centre, a pioneering example of education architecture on the Gold Coast. Our cutting-edge facility seamlessly integrates private and public domains, redefining traditional teaching methods and creating a dynamic learning environment.
The Enterprise Centre is a state-of-the-art complex that showcases Southport State High's forward-thinking approach to education. Designed to meet diverse needs, it features a commercial quality kitchen, conference rooms, dining space, and classrooms within a versatile and adaptable enclave. This innovative space not only caters to the school's current requirements but also provides high-quality facilities for community use.
Despite unique challenges such as a tight site and strict budget, our expert team overcame these constraints through thoughtful design strategies. The Enterprise Centre is divided into two separate buildings, with a large roof extension uniting the semi-internal space. This active spine serves as the main entrance, gathering area, and dining space, seamlessly connecting the street and the school. The careful manipulation of this transitional space not only fulfils the project's initial requirements but also offers unexpected spatial opportunities.
The successful realisation of The Enterprise Centre is a testament to the vision and determination of our dedicated team, working closely with a forward-thinking principal who embraced the architectural interpretation of a complex brief. It exemplifies what can be achieved within the public education system, highlighting the power of innovative design and functional spaces.
