Sunnybank Hills State School
Performing arts and learning centre: nurturing the school’s creative arts program
Lightwave and Grindley Construction collaborated to deliver a performing arts and learning centre, expanding possibilities education architecture. This visionary project exceeds the school's expectations, nurturing their creative arts program and providing a dynamic learning environment.
The design of the centre was carefully crafted to invigorate an area that lacked activity and connection to the oval. Vibrant colours and bold architectural forms were employed, creating a visually striking facility. Special attention was given to the acoustic ceiling, ensuring optimal sound quality. The inclusion of retractable seating and video stage monitoring in adjoining rooms further enhances the versatility of the space.
By seamlessly integrating with the surrounding areas, the centre becomes an extension of the existing school facilities. It strengthens the school's ability to provide state-of-the-art teaching and performance spaces. The Performing Arts and eLearning Centre not only supports the school's commitment to physical activity in the curriculum but also fosters the growth of their creative and performing arts program.
Located in Brisbane this exceptional education architecture project showcases Lightwave's expertise in school design and architecture. Our team of experienced school architects are committed to transforming educational campuses in the Brisbane and Gold Coast region into vibrant and dynamic learning environments.
