Eight Mile Plains State School
Providing above and beyond, innovative education architecture
At Eight Miles Plains Primary School, we embraced the challenge of designing a cutting-edge resource centre as part of the Nation Building Economic Stimulus Plan - Building the Education Revolution. As experts in education architecture and design, we exceeded expectations by delivering a project that maximised resources and provided exceptional value within the given budget.
Our innovative approach involved repurposing an existing structure to create a resource centre that serves as the heart of the school. With a strong master plan, this central hub seamlessly connects various parts of the campus under a sheltered canopy, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.
By leveraging an existing slab and adding a new roof, we transformed the front of the resource centre into a striking focal point. Integrated courtyards and walkways create a cohesive environment, while terraced seating overlooks the oval, providing an ideal space for performances and gatherings.
Our design not only addresses flooding issues but also offers a covered outdoor stage and performance area that doubles as a versatile play and open learning space. This innovative solution enhances the school's educational environment while providing a resilient and functional space for students and staff.
As experienced school architects, we are passionate about creating education environments that promote learning, collaboration, and growth. Our commitment to excellence is evident in the transformed Eight Miles Plains State School, located in Brisbane, Australia.
