Innovative planning and mobile technology kept this complex within the boundaries of a 30 year old approval

Lightwave were approached to provide a design solution that would maximise the potential of this prime riverfront land while satisfying existing conditions – a 30 year old approval for a caravan park. The prime objective was to provide high quality design solutions at an affordable cost.

A variety of product was developed to provide 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom attached dwellings which used mobile technology to satisfy the approval requirements of a caravan park. With existing road network and services in place, the design needed to also work within physical site constraints and budget to provide an upmarket response to a changing market.

For the bulk of the development an innovative planning response grouped dwellings into 4 with carports and decks linking onto the next group of 4. This provided open and green courtyards to all dwellings to ensure the high yield and tight site still provided northern solar access and corner cross ventilation.

The simplicity in design along with the building technology utilised provided an appropriate climatic response suitable for the beach/river environment while keeping the costs reasonable for a diving market.
