Commercial / Mixed Use - Beryl Street Mixed Use
Traditional qualities to suit a character filled street
The design challenge for this mixed use development was its location in a character filled business precinct of Tweed Heads.
The 3 storey commercial and residential project has an architectural aesthetic that reflects the traditional cottage construction without mimicking it.
Human scale massing with two seperate buildings provides a layering of space with a central vertical movement spine that draws an active edge through the site. Residential units on the top floor of each building consume the entire floor plate allowing for cross ventilation and northern aspects while maintaining privacy from the commercial sector.
